VHS Library

Hours: 7:15 a.m. – 2:35 p.m. every day during school year

RULES:

* you may check out books for 3 weeks

* after 3 weeks you will be charge $0.05 per day late fee

* you may check out up to 7 books at once

* absolutely no food or drink in the library

* no cell phones in the library

* follow APS policy regarding computer use/internet access

(Prohibited activities include illegal activities, playing games, changing computer settings without permission, downloading, printing, or scanning of non-teacher approved materials, accessing any inappropriate materials, vandalism in any form, accessing chat rooms, list servers, or bulletin boards and gaining any unauthorized access. Students will use their personal login only to access computers. Students will carry their agenda with page signed by both themselves and their parents while in the computer lab or library).

* no cyberbullying

* follow the Norse Code regarding plagiarism:

You cheat/plagiarize when:

* you copy and paste portion (or whole text) written by someone

else and present as yours

* you use someone’s words without giving credit

* you use someone’s ideas without giving credit

* you use pictures/images/graphs/music without giving credit

Consequences:

1^st –  Loss of assignment points, parent contact, 1 day ISS

2^nd – Loss of assignment points, parent contact, 3 day ISS

3^rd – Loss of assignment points, parent conference, 3 day OSS

suspension, possible W/F

* remember  library is for study not socializing

* your library privileges may be removed when you use library inappropriately

WAYS TO USE THE LIBRARY:

Check out books.

Read books and magazines in the library.

Do your homework and projects.

Print your school work.

Study for tests.

Use computers for research.

Enjoy quiet time and safe place.
